Privacy Policy
How we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information, and how you can access or correct it.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to Omnis Festival (ABN 52 177 621 427), trading as Omnis.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. What we collect
If you email us: your name, email address, and whatever you choose to put in your message.
If you buy a ticket: your purchase is made through 123tix, who collects your name, contact details and payment information directly. We do not receive or store your payment card details at any point. We receive from 123tix the information we need to run the event and contact ticket holders — typically name, email address, and order details.
When you visit this site: our hosting provider records standard server log information, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
At the event: ID is sighted at the door to verify age. We do not scan, photograph, copy or record your ID. The venue may operate CCTV under its own policies. The event is photographed and filmed — see clause 7.
3. Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party tracking pixels. It sets no cookies of its own.
Pages that embed the 123tix booking window load content from 123tix, and 123tix may set their own cookies when you interact with it. That is governed by their privacy policy.
If we add analytics in future, this section will be updated and, where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent first.
4. Why we collect it
- to sell you a ticket and get you into the event;
- to contact you about the event you hold a ticket for — including changes to times, cancellation or relocation;
- to answer your enquiries;
- to meet our legal obligations, including licensing and safety;
- to send you marketing about future events, but only if you have opted in.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it for another organisation’s direct marketing.
5. Direct marketing
If you opt in to hearing about future events, every message will include a working unsubscribe link, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can also unsubscribe any time by emailing omnisfestival@gmail.com. We’ll action it promptly.
6. Who we share it with
We may disclose personal information to:
- 123tix — our ticketing provider, for ticket sales, delivery and refunds;
- Hobart City Hall and our security and production contractors — only what they need to run the event safely;
- our service providers — website hosting and email, under confidentiality obligations;
- police or a regulator — where we are required or authorised by law, or where it is necessary to prevent a serious threat to life, health or safety.
7. Photography and filming
The event is photographed and filmed. Attending means you consent to your image being recorded and used by us for promotional, archival and commercial purposes. If you appear prominently in material we have published and want it removed, email omnisfestival@gmail.com and we will consider your request in good faith.
8. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers — for example website hosting and email — may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet a legal obligation, and then destroy or de-identify it. Event-related records are generally kept for up to seven years to meet tax and insurance requirements.
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
10. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it’s wrong. Email omnisfestival@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. There is no charge for making a request.
If we refuse access or correction, we will tell you why in writing and explain how to complain.
11. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email omnisfestival@gmail.com with the details. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:
- Web: oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints
- Phone: 1300 363 992
- Post: GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always published here, with the date it last changed shown at the top of the page.
